Harmony For Peace Honors 25th Anniversary of Chernobyl Disaster

Harmony For Peace Executive Director, Tomoko Torii, speaks to the Ukrainian Community in Philadelphia, commemorating the Chernobyl Disaster.
Tomoko Torii, Executive Director and President of the Harmony For Peace Foundation, along with a group of the Foundation's volunteers, attended the 25th Anniversary of the Chernobyl Commemoration in Philadelphia on April 26, 2011. We were very honored and humbled to be able to take part in this significant event. Lastly, but certainly not least, we are very appreciative for the generous contribution from the community to our Japan Relief Fund, helping those in need in the Tohoku region.
The Philadelphia Ukrainian American community held the commemorative event at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on April 26th to honor those who tragically perished during the catastrophic disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear plant 25 years ago.
We thank the representatives of the Philadelphia Ukrainian American Community Committee, Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Reverend Stefan Soroka and Reverend Ivan Demkiv, Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center and the people of the Philadelphia Ukrainian American Community to include us at this most solemn occasion.
