International Peace Concert at Carnegie Hall

Our first Peace Concert launch to promote world peace in support with 2010 Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

On May 16, 2010 in New York City, home of the United Nations, artists from six countries performed on stage to achieve one common goal: World peace through earnest voices, embodied in words and the universal language of music and poetry.

Participating performing artists:

Japanese harpsicordist Yasuko Mitsui, who has been advocating world peace and friendship through her music over the last 10 years;
Russian pianist and UNESCO Peace Artist Sergei Markarov;
American baritone Philip Zawisza who has been performing at many leading opera houses in the world;
English actor Christopher Ravenscroft of the Royal Shakespeare Company, recited a poem for unity;
French composer Hacène Larbi, created a new piece especially for the concert;
The St. Aidan Girl's Choir from Long Island, New York
Yunhong Zhao, a leading soprano from China, performed on stage to show her support for the cause.

Concert proceeds benefited HICARE, the Hiroshima International Council for Health Care of the Radiation-Exposed.Hiroshima International Council for Health Care of the Radiation-exposed: HICARE’s international cooperation activities include the training of medical and other technical personnel involved in the health care of the radiation-exposed worldwide, the dispatch of medical and other specialists in Hiroshima to the radiation-exposed countries/regions, and dissemination of knowledge about the medical care of the radiation victims in Hiroshima, in the form of publications in English and Japanese.
